about purplegirl
Oh wow, I could say a ton on this topic. :) Let's see...I'm a college student with a major in journalism and a minor in family and consumer sciences. I am very blessed to have a very wise and caring mom and dad and two loving older sisters. :) But the most important part of my life is Jesus Christ. Without Him, I would not have any reason to live. He should be the center of everything I do because He died for me on the cross so I would not have to pay for my punishment of sin. He paid that punishment for me and because of that, I owe Him my life in service to Him. I like to call myself "a princess in training" because I'm learning to serve my King, Jesus Christ, the best way I can.

Happy Independence Day!

It's a beautiful morning for the 4th of July--bright, sunny and calm, perfect for lighting fireworks. We don't really have any 4th of July plans...but It's Dad's birthday too, so we're having Grandma over for cake and ice cream this evening to celebrate, but other than that I'm just hanging out today (I'm off work--yay!!! :))

Last night I started watching "Wives and Daughters" -- it's a little bit like "Pride and Prejudice." It's such a cute movie. I'll have to drag the girls in to watch it with me sometime. Jena always falls asleep whenever we watch movies at night. hehe.. ;)

Okay, so I'm really anxious to start writing a story for the Globe (my local newspaper where I'm interning as a reporter) about the animal shelter. There are so many cute little animals that need good homes...and so few people to take them in. I'm hoping if I do a story on it, I can get more people to think about adopting a cat or a dog. They are so precious...I hate going inside the shelter because it's sooo hard to leave that place without wanting to take all the animals home!

Well, I've got lots to do today. Way more than I want to. I need to start off my preparing devos for camp, then study a little French, then write my Miss Teen USA story for the Globe, then catch up on e-mails,...hmmm...better get busy! :)

Have a fabulous red, white and blue day!! :)
